AGDA Mentor – Matt McKey
Matt McKey is a graphic designer and illustrator living and working in Melbourne. His love for design stems from a passion for drawing; even as a young lad he was never far from a pencil and a stack of paper.
Matt is the graphic design manager at Asahi Premium Beverages and works with a breadth of brands such as Super Dry, Woodstock, Vodka Cruiser, Somersby Cider, Cricketers Arms, just to name a few. His career at Asahi spans 8 years and throughout that time he has seen the company evolve and develop their stable of brands. Matt’s area of expertise is packaging and promotion, collaborating closely with marketing and communication partners to take products from conception through to execution in market.
Matt studied a Bachelor of Visual Design at the University of Newcastle, after which he also completed an Honours year to round off his studies. When he is not working, you’ll find him plugging away at a vector app creating illustrations of fantasy worlds and fictional characters.
And of course, being an adopted Melbournian, a day would not be complete without a good long black.
The AGDA Mentorship Program 2016 is calling for applicants and we will be featuring some of the mentors on our blog over the next couple of weeks. Apply as a mentee for the opportunity to work with one of them!
